Messed up my display in VISTA BUSINESS I have Vista Business SP1 on a HP dc5700 Small Form Factor desktop unit. The machine was working fine until I accidentally switched a setting in the Control Panel >>Appearance and Personalization >>Personalization >>Monitor >>Advanced area. I can't remember what the setting that I changed WAS, but I know I (using a spinbar) selected "BOOT". This was because I was trying to get the Monitor that is installed (HP L1940T 19" flatscreen) to register. It was running as a generic VGA.NOW I have NO MONITOR AT ALL. When I do a SAFE BOOT, the list of drivers flies by as usual, but then the display stops on crcdisk.sys; however, I think it goes on to boot correctly, but am not sure because I have no monitor. I have lost CD that came with the monitor, but am not sure that it would fix what I did.I have another one of these machines (exact copy) and it seems that the next file in the boot sequence (safe boot) is tunnel.sys. My main problem, other than being stupid, is WHAT TO DO??I have dug around the help screens etc. hoping to be able to "restore to last good configuration" but can't see anything, so am stymied.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Feckless |
