Default I'm stumped...linksys compact wireless-g usb adapter question

for some reason, my vista desktop likes to be difficult when it comes to connecting to the internetright now, I'm connected via an ethernet cable because my linksys compact wireless g usb adapter only seems to achieve a "local only" connection to my networkthe pass on the network here is a 26 digit WEP key, my ipod touch connects to it fine, and when plugged in to my linksys wireless router all works fine. This problem has been aroudn for a month, countless resets of the router have done nothing, and I know the computer has the right wep key to connect to the networkI'm leaving for college on august 27th, want to take my desktop with me without having to worry about the ethernet...any suggestions on how I can get my wireless adapter to you know, work?thanks in advance =]
