Default Advantages of two Nic's using windows server 2003

Are there any advantages in using a intergrated nic, and a pci nic on the same pc. I am thinking about installing windows server 2003 (don't know why, but I have two desktops and a laptop in my home), but what could I gain or lose by doing this? Thanks in advance for any replies.I also use a 2wire wireless gateway. My desktop is the one is connected wired to the gateway and I'm thinking about installing an pci nic if I install windows server 2003. The other desktop will connect wirelessly and my laptop is already connected wirelessly.
