Strange traffic flood I have a strange situation on my network: sometimes during backup the network seems to collapse because of a traffic flood. Initially I thought about a loop topology and a broadcast storm, but the check of the connection gave me no results even if looking for bandwith occupation I noticed peaks of traffic on every switch of the network I've tried to sniff the traffic with wireshark and I've found a strange traffic: two servers are exchanging a lot of data between each other (backup) and i get a lot of TCP-Out-of-order segments. I woldn't be too worried, but i found these packets flooded on all ports of the switch and not only on the network path they should pass on. I don't see all the traffic but only the out-of-order and the continuation packets. All the traffic I see is originating from a linux server with bonded (802.3ad LACP) ethernet card and directed to the backup server; I don't see any packet coming back from the other server. Any Idea??? |
