Unable To Detect Routers Hello, I bought a WBR-2310 D-Link router about three months ago and ran the included setup wizard software that came with it and have been using it to share my cable internet connection with my mother's desktop and my two gaming consoles. Recently I began to notice that every few hours one machine would disconnect from the internet and require a reboot to regain the connection, which was a minor inconvenience. I made an earlier post about this issue. However, after changing the DHCP lease time in an effort to remedy the situation via my router's configuration page at 192.168.0.1, the rotuer rebooted as it normally does after changing settings, but my connection would not come back and I couldn't access the router's configuration page any longer. I tried restarting the computer, unplugging my cable modem and router, and using the reset button on the back of my router. I thought that resetting to factory defaults would rule out any intermittent problems. I even tried running the setup software again. The setup software yields an error message which states that the router was not detected. I'm not sure what the issue is because I tried using a different brand of router and I got the same issue. My cable modem that was connected to my router is a motorola surfboard SB5120. Does the problem lie in my machine or ISP, and how should I go about the issue if so?Also, I'm fairly certain that I've disabled any software firewalls that may be causing interference. Thanks in advanced. |
