In my current home there is a wireless network allowing me and two others to access the Internet. However, recently my laptop has been unable to connect properly. To begin with, I could connect to the network but was unable to use any of the usual network functions (internet browser would not load pages, messenger would not sign in etc.), although it was possible to send pings (though those sent to the router itself failed). We investigated and discovered that the router would issue me an IP address, subnet mask etc, but soon after they would be lost again (reset to 0.0.0.0 in 'ipconfig').After a day or two I had another attempt at resolving the issue myself, and now a different problem is presented. Now, I can connect to the network, but very quickly I am disconncted again, and it alternates between these two every 4-5 seconds. In the intervals where I am connected I still do not seem to be able to access websites etc, though I am not 100% sure if this is because the same problem as before is still present, or if I am timing my attempts wrong. I would suspect the former. My wireless device is an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG (it came built in to the laptop when I purchased it), and though I updated the driver today it has not made any difference. The router itself has never before had a problem, and mine is the only machine affected out of all those we have tested. My OS is
windows xp Home, service pack 2.Please help as soon as you can.Thank you
