Default Limited or no connectivity...

Hey guys, I need help with a computer of mine which I have left unused for a while now since the internet hasnt been working... basically what the problem im having here is that the internet wont connect pretty much... im using a D-Link Router DI-524 and only figured out today how to get it working. Before using the router, I was using an Optus cable modem. So the connection between the router and the main computer was solved. The actual problem I want to resolve is for the computer that I have left unused... before using the D-Link Router, I was using a Belkin router which broke, but during the time I had it, the unused computer would normally run the internt fine.. but until we changed to D-Link it wouldnt!!....(oh yeah and also this computer is always on LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY which I dont know why it is so) so anyways, for a fewdays ive tried only a few things to try and get it working which is basically: 1. Set up a small network (using the network wizard) and nothing happened, didnt help at all. 2. Called the support for the router and listened to what they had to say, I did what they told me to do.. nothing happened so their help wasnt so helpful. 3. Messed around with cables, changing about, reset like 100000 times, nothing happened and still left with limited or no connectivity. 4. Tried reading other information on other forums which didnt really help either. I noticed how in many posts a lot of people asked for what they saw in the run>cmd>ipconfig thing.. strangely enough, when I tried doing that with the unused computer it was odd to the other information I saw... the unused ocmputer was showing as: Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: *Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Autoconfiguration IP Address: 169.254.22.156 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . :* Yep.. so im not sure how to get this computer connected to the internet again.. please help out people =] will be waiting for replies..
