| I have one computer with Vista and another with Ubuntu 8.04. They are in the same room, each has an ethernet port and each port is connected to my wireless modem router ( the wireless facility is disabled ). I want to share files between the two computers and have absolutely no idea how to do it. What do I need? I've read that to connect just two computers, all you need is a crossover ethernet cable, but since I have no free ports on either computer what do I do? I suppose I could free the ports by removing the wired connections from the modem router to the computers and connecting wirelessly, but I don't want to do that. As you can no doubt tell, I have no knowledge of networking. |
