Default Replace dead motherboard keep WinXP hdd

The Foxconn 661M03-G-6EL board in my nephew's Novatech Vortex P4 PC has failed. We want to replace it but keep the rest of the system intact, especially his WinXP installation on the WD 120GB hard drive. The Foxconn board is no longer available but we could get a Foxconn 661MX which also has a SiS chipset, though not precisely the same..........or an Asrock P4i65G.We need help on how to go about setting up the new board with the old hard drive so we keep the Windows setup and all his data and programs.I assume we do not simply attach all devices and boot from the hard drive, as the mother board and onboard devices' drivers need to be installed. How do we go about it?Is there a big advantage in using another Foxconn board with SiS chipset or does it not help? Thanks for any guidance.Chris
