Sudden failure. Ok, so I (relatively) recently built a new-ish generation computer with specs that I can link to you if you wish, but I'm not sure thats relevant. Over the couple of months I had the machine, I had a few fixable problems, and had to RMA the RAM once, but after that it worked fine. Just today though, while enjoying my Warhammer Online, I suddenly lost video. Both of my monitors go black, no signal from PC. Annoyed, I try shutting down via my power button, but it is unresponsive, so I resort to switching off my PSU. I've now spent all day troubleshooting this issue, but ultimately making no progress. The computer starts- lights on, fans running, but I get no signal to any peripherals, and no motherboard beeps whatsoever, even when starting without video and without RAM. I've tried each RAM stick individually, I've flashed BIOS a dozen times, re-seated damn near everything, I've even been able to swap in another known-working PCI-e video card. My tech-friends and I are at a loss. I'm dreading the mere process of trying to get GIGABYTE to replace my mobo, let alone the wait-time. I also dread the idea of having to do out-of-case troubleshooting, as I'm a bit on the lazy side. Any insight would be much appreciated. |
