I have had ordeal with my HP OEM P5BW-LA Asus Motherboard. It was working perfectly fine until last night when it would produce the same two medium, 1 long beeps. The monitor doesn't display anything but a black screen and the keyboard caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock lights are unresponsive as well. The fans and dvd drive work. Operating System: Vista Business Edition BIOS: Award CPU: 1.86 GHz Intel Core Duo E6300 with Dual Core technology GPU: ASUS NVidia GeForce 7500 LE RAM: 2 Gig (2x1) Corsair ValuSelect 240 Pin DDR 2 PC2 6400 (800 MHz) PSU: OEM Delta Electronics 350W [Ruling out Ram] I tried reseating the ram as well as taking 1 stick out but the same problem is still there. If I take all ram out it gives me a continuous beep. [Ruling out PS and connections] I unplugged and reinserted the SATA and power cables to my
hard drive as well as the power cables to my motherboard. [Ruling out Video Card] I removed the graphics card and reseated it and it seems to be properly mounted. I receive the same beep code whether the card is in or not. After spending hours into the night I finally decided to get some sleep. When I tried to turn the computer on again this morning it seemed to boot flawlessly until it would ask if I wanted to boot windows normally (because it didn't boot properly previously) and then go back to the black screen with the same beep code. This leads me to believe that maybe something is overheating? I applied arctic silver to my GPU and CPU and it seems to be fine so at this point I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
