Hi again everyone, Well the other day I bought a new graphics card, the 9800GTX+. I'am really pleased with it but had no idea how big it was going to be, it's huge! The caseing where the
hard drive sits was in the way, the card needed to be about an inch shorter. Funny thing was I did loads of research before buying the card like finding out what PSU I needed, what temperatures the card run's at idle & on full load & whether or not I had sufficient cooling to keep the card nice & cool. I even researched the manufactorers of the card to make sure it was made well, I picked BFG in the end so's that I got the lifetime warranty. Anyway veering off the point a little I managed to get the card in & it fits like a glove but the only problem is I was wanting to install a second
hard drive so that I can run vista on one & XP on the other. Where the graphics card sits its slightly covering my secondary sata port on the motherboard, so it's left me to try & fatham out a way of getting round it. That's hopefully where you lovely people come in. I've inclosed some pics for you to get an idea of what we are dealing with. The power cable side of things is no problem, I have plenty of those, both types. Preferably I would like the second
hard drive to be sata like the primary
hard drive but it can be IDE if need be. I only have one IDE port on my motherboard(M2N-MX SE X Series)& I have a cable running off of that port with a two way IDE cable which one plugs into my ASUS dvd drive & the other plugs into my LITE-ON dvd drive & the power cable is molex. Like I said my main
hard drive is SATA 160GB. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can approach this? The only thing I can think of is to install a second SATA
hard drive & every time I want to use it unplug the primary
hard drives data cable & plug that in to the secondary
hard drive every time I want to use it. Im sure that way will get annoying after a few months of opening & closeing my case. Does anyone know if there is like a two way sata data cable like they do with IDE? Look forward to hearing any suggestions.
