STOP: c000021a unknown hard error My neighbor has been having a problem with his PC. He asked me to assist him since I was in the occupation of building servers and loading them in my former job. He turned it on and his screen was black. I worked with his PC for a while and went to do a chkdsk and then chkdsk /r. It repaired several bad clusters but ended with the above blue screen and error (not BSOD).I read many tech articles and attempted several times to resolve the problem. If I go into the OS, it is going into a chkdsk loop. If I go into safe mode (which I can't always get to), it comes up with the safe mode statement on the top, but is still a black screen. If I try to use the Recovery Console, I get no response other than the chkdsk loop again. Unfortunately, the symptoms don't appear to be consistent when I even just turn the PC on. I think I have done everything I have read in various tech forums and still cannot get the issue resolved. I would really like any assistance since this individual is in his own business and all of his customer and billing data are on the PC (he does have a backup that is about 6 months old), but I can't even get to the point where I could restore that data. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Maureen |
