BAD Sector problem

 BAD Sector problem Guys and Gals, I need help on repairing the bad sector on my computer I'm running WinXP pro SP2, chkdsk does not seems to eliminate the bad sector, it started out 4kb now its 40kb, and I think each time my computer hangs it generates a bad sector.Someone suggested to use Spinrite but I do not know if that is the best to get rid of my concern. I do not want to result on formatting my HDD (if possible) because I have lots of videos and pic there. backing up will take me some time though, by the way I have a 160 gb excelstor SATA.I also think that the cause of the hangs is the bad sector but im not 100% sure.Can anyone help?:grin:  |
